# Becoming a CAPSYC member

The association has full members — the founders present at its legal establishment — and associate members, who join CAPSYC through mentorship and registration.

- Registration 5 000 FCFA
- Annual dues 25 000 FCFA
- Probation 6 months

Requirements

## Who can join

Article 5 of the statutes.

- Hold Cameroonian nationality.
- Have a profile matching the association's needs: trained linguist or specialist in a related field (psychologist, speech therapist, occupational therapist, neurologist, paediatrician, neuropaediatrician), patient or parent of a person with a language disorder.
- Or be a student in psycholinguistics or clinical linguistics.
- Be mentored by a full member.
- Complete a renewable six-month probationary period, during which attendance, ethics and discipline are closely observed.
- Formally pledge on their honour to abide by CAPSYC's operating principles.
- Be duly registered at the end of the probationary period, or re-registered, and pay annual dues.

Member rights

Article 6 of the statutes.

- A polo shirt bearing the association's logo.
- A membership card, on submission of a passport photo and a copy of the national ID card.
- Equal rights and duties with every other duly registered member.

Internal rules, article 1, and resolutions of the constitutive assembly of 29 January 2025.

One-off, on joining

Re-registration — existing member

By the end of February each year

Per member, replenished after each event

Re-registration must take place by the end of February each year, together with at least half of the annual dues. No member may re-register without having settled outstanding debts. The membership file is revised in March.

## Mutual support between members

Internal rules, article 3. The fund is set at 25,000 FCFA per member and is replenished after each event.

- Thesis defence 25 000 FCFA
- Promotion (rank, appointment, medal) 25 000 FCFA
- Member's wedding 100 000 FCFA
- Birth One 700 g bar of soap

### Difficult events

- Death of an active member 200 000 FCFA
- Death of a spouse 100 000 FCFA
- Death of a child 50 000 FCFA
- Serious illness certified by a doctor 50 000 FCFA

## How to apply

Membership goes through mentorship by a full member, followed by a six-month probationary period. Write to us to be put in touch with a mentor.
